Yellowfin is just one of the prized fine fighting fish found in the Samoan waters. Samoa is recognised as one of the world’s top ten sportsfishing destinations. Other big fish include Blue and Black Marlin, Broadbill, Pacific Sail Fish, Dogtooth Tuna, Albacore, Skipjack, Wahoo, Giant Trevally, Barracuda and Mahi Mahi. Professional operators like Troppo Fishing Adventures recommend the tag and release of all billfish species unless a SIGFA or IGFA record may be pending. SIGFA (Samoan International Game Fishing Association holds its international tournament in May (May 8 to 13, 2006). More detailed information from greg@troppofishing.com and flights and accommodation packages can be arranged here.

Yoga

Yoga is the practice of withdrawing the senses from all external objects, so many Samoans may be into yoga without actually knowing it. The Day Spa at Aggie Grey’s Lagoon Beach Resort & Spa has an area dedicated to yoga and meditation. And to be dressed appropriately for yoga, visit Pranava Yogawear before you go.
